The Overgrown Sanctum

Heyy everyone!! I am incredibly excited to share my Mentorship Term Project with you all! The Overgrown Sanctum is my final project with Think Tank Training Centre, which spanned approximately 16 weeks. I chose to work on an interior scene to add variety to my demo reel and, at the same time, hone my environment creation skills. Throughout the project, I learned a lot, including how to create shading networks using VRay nodes and texture maps exported from Substance Painter, composite multi-layer EXRs in Nuke, create vines in SpeedTree, and use Houdini for the very first time!
A huge shout-out to my mentor Marc-Antoine Beineix, thank you for being so supportive! https://www.artstation.com/digitizedsoul
I also had the opportunity to receive some amazing, insightful feedback from Think Tank's global mentors Jude Godin and Houra Ershad!
This environment is based on a concept by Sathish Kumar - https://www.artstation.com/artwork/yDg33x

I wanted to incorporate using Houdini in this project as a way to get hands-on with the software. I decided to use it to populate the library with books. This is the node network.
